The CTS Art Centre was the first Art School in the Toronto Public School System, dating back to 1915. The building we call our home-away-from-home was designed by Macy Dubois with the express purpose of being used as an art institution. Fully skylit rooms  allow each room to be filled with natural, north facing light, and each room is purpose built for the medium in which it houses.

The Central Tech Art Centre has played a pivotal role in Canadian art history over the years. Past staff and alumni include Doris McCarthy, Lawren Harris, Kazua Nakamura and Joyce Wieland.

Our art programs still offer the most comprehensive art education in the city.  Our  facilities are unparalleled in any secondary school in Toronto, and rivaling many private and post-secondary institutions. Our dedicated and experienced instructors will give you the instruction you need to develop your practice and find your passion.

Finally, The Art Centre is a place where lifelong friendships are born. Whether you join as an adult or adolescent, you will leave with dear friends and  fond memories.

It’s time to begin your journey.
